Pending China-Australia FTA May Boost FHW CHINA 2015
On November 11, 2014, in a meeting between Chinese president Xi Jinping and Australian Premier Tony Abbot, the two announced the substantial end of a round talk regarding China-Australia FTA. The agreement will bring unprecedented opportunities to both countries, the benefits of which will be prominent in the next 10 years. One of the boons is that Australian dairy products will enter China market in more favorable conditions. If China-Australia FTA can be secured successfully within 2015, Australian diary industry will be the biggest winner.
With the deal, Australian consumers will pay RMB 1 billion less duties for Chinese garments, footware, auto parts, cars and electronic products. Meanwhile Australian dairy, meat, wine and agricultural products can gain easier access to China market. It’s a win-win situation for both countries. At present, China collects 10%~15% duties for Australian dairy products. President of United Dairyfarmers of Victoria Mr. Jones points out that according to the latest analysis report, Australian dairy industry is expected to save over AUD 0.61 billion (appr. RMB 3.37 billion) duties over the next 10 years. Recently, Australian Chamber of Commerce - South China and FHW CHINA organizer had a friendly talk regarding Australian food companies’participation in the fair. The chamber of commerce spoke highly of the meeting and acknowledged that professional food exhibitions are the most effective way for Australian food to be introduced to China market. Besides traditional B2B distributors, ecommerce buyers will also be a focus. The show will spare no efforts in inviting more ecommerce buyers to visit so as to provide more distribution channels for oversea exhibitors. FHW CHINA2015 will be held at Area C, China Import and Export Complex from September 22 to 24, 2015. Quick Links
