A Visit to Guangzhou Western Food Association
Miss Tan was delighted to introduce of the association's history. WFA was established in 1993. It owned 100 member units, covering Guangzhou non Chinese catering enterprises and suppliers of food and kitchen appliance suppliers. For 20 years, WFA was responsible of industry guidelines, and western food promotion, culinary training etc. WFA regularly organized chef assembly, culinary competitions and culinary training three kinds of activities.
Chef assembly
June 2014, WFA successfully invited more than 20 chefs from famous restaurant together. Chef of Sen Bo Restaurant and Les Trois Gros Bistro exhibited their superior dishes and explain the recipe and key technology. 20 chefs tasted. Chef from White Swan Hotel, Mr. Jiang Hai Qiang and the Latin restaurant chef gave comments. Activities successfully showed the high level of Western cuisine, so that participants understand the latest cooking methods in the industry.
Competition
July 2015 Association co-organized 2015 China Culinary Competition -- Guangdong Province Western style pastry. Match the theory test and practical operation combined with the score. In the from Guangdong Province Trade Vocational and technical school, Guangzhou Lingnan Group, Blue West Point Vocational School, Guangzhou Yongye Food Co., Ltd., Baiyun International Conference Center, Guangzhou Sheraton Resort Hotel, Zhaoqing City, technicians. More than 100 cooks participated.
Culinary training
2-day culinary training by means of cooing American cranberry was held in December 2015. Guangdong Province Catering Food Vocational Education Group and 50 chefs from hotel were invited. Mr. Huang Wenhua, Consul General of the United States Consulate General in Guangzhou gave opening talk. The Embassy of the United States executive chef showed how to use frozen cranberries berry sauce, cranberry juice made of pastry. It successfully promoted American cranberry and its cooking method.
